Agua de Jamaica 🌺🌺

I am a lover of Agua de Jamaica so I decided to give it a try and make my own and let me tell you it was pretty easy to make and awfully delicious!

Begin with 2 cups of soft hibiscus flower
(Bought from the 99cents only store for $2.99)

Add hibiscus flowers to 2 quarts of cold water.

The water has to be cold for this part of the process.

I let it sit and seep for about 10 minutes. Transfer the concoction... flowers and liquid to a pot and bring the water to a boil, once boiling reduce heat to low and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Take off burner and allow concentrate to cool.

Once cooled the flowers will sink to the bottom of the pot. That’s when you know it is ready to use.

Pour the concentrate through a strainer to remove
 the flowers.

Add 2/3 cup of sugar and another 1 quart of cold water and stir. Add more or less sugar to your liking.

Make sure to use a glass container because the red color will stain everything.
Also keep a top on your container because the juice can pick up smells from other foods and cause a funny taste.
Will last in fridge for 4-5 days
Enjoy with ice! 🌺
